Planning for Growth

An ambitious Managing Director had opened an international sales office in Europe. The team needed to come together to agree strategic actions to drive improved pipeline and increase sales. 

Emma ran a Strategy Day, including pre-day prep agreed with the MD. The day was full of debate and challenge and resulted in agreed, prioritised actions that allow the MD to easily track progress.

Trusted Adviser

A business owner was faced with a number of exciting business opportunities but was sucked into the day-to day and had little time to fully progress them. As an OMB, with a new and developing team, advisory support from a trusted and challenging partner was needed.

Emma spent time understanding the client and the business and talked through the buisness owners ideas, fears and business development opportunities, working together to re-prioritise actions to help the whole team focus. New opportunities are progressed and Emma's relationship with the owner continues as a trusted sounding board.

 

Mentoring

A forward thinking Chief Executive had promoted a rising star who had very limited experience of leadership and needed support to be effective in her new role.

The Chief Executive wanted an experienced leader and business developer to act as mentor.

Emma provided mentoring services, which were initially intensive, to give the newly promoted employee every chance of success in her new role.

Finance Function Evaluation

A busy Managing Director wanted better information to understand the performance of a rapidly growing business area. All business areas were reported through one company, but reports were not accurate reflections of each areas results.

Emma reviewed the finance function as a whole and produced a stepped plan to assist the Finance Team and MD to transform the function and produce accurate and timely information the MD could trust.

Preparing for Sale
 

Emma's client had an opportunity to sell their business. 

After an in-depth evaluation, a detailed plan was produced to refine the business structure and finance reports to ensure clarity of quality information for any future Due Diligence process and maximise business valuation.

Board Governance
 

A client had a dysfunctional Board. Board members had not been fully briefed on board meeting expectations, board papers were not issued in good time, there was no risk register in place or appropriate measure of success.

Emma worked with the Chief Executive to drive cultural change at board level. Setting clear expectations, developing clear policies and procedures and ensuring each board member had a fresh understanding of expected conduct and principles of leadership behaviours.
